This antique color plate features a striking image of three varieties of woodland birds. The print comes from the book Bird Portraits In Color, Two Hundred Ninety-Five North American Species by Thomas S. Roberts, M.D. The book was copyrighted by The University of Minnesota in 1934 and printed and lithographed by The McGill Lithograph Company of Minneapolis, Minnesota. The book was published by The University of Minnesota Press. This color plate was illustrated by Allan Brooks in 1930.
This vintage print is Plate 53 showing six birds in their natural habitat. The birds represented are the Barn Swallow, Cliff Swallow, and Purple Martin. The birds are illustrated at about one-half their actual size. The print is professionally matted in an 11” x 14” navy blue matte to setoff the beauty of the birds. Our vintage prints are shipped in a plastic sleeve between cardboard stiffeners to arrive in perfect condition.
Keep in mind, an antique print will never be “perfect” like a new print and there are sometimes tiny occasional spots and/or discoloring or aging. However, we only sell mint or almost mint prints and will not sell anything that we would not be proud to hang on our own walls!!!
WE GUARANTEE ALL PRINTS TO BE AUTHENTIC AND AS DESCRIBED!
