Britevale Washington Apple Crate Label
Historic Overview
This bright vintage apple crate label measures 10” Wide x 9” High and dates to the 1940s. It portrays Happy Valley Ranch with an orchard, packing house with a box car train on the siding, and a ranch house. The label was lithographed by the Schmidt Lithograph Company of San Francisco, California. The apples came from the Okanogan Valley in Washington State. They were grown and packed by Happy Valley Ranch of Tonasket, Washington.
Tonasket is a small community located along the eastern bank of the Okanogan River in north central Okanogan County, Washington. The Canadian border is approximately 20 miles north. The present population is estimated to be approximately 995. Many descendants of pioneer families still reside in Tonasket and the surrounding areas.
