Emperor City Grape Crate Label

This vintage unused grape crate label is packed by the Exeter Grape Growers of Exeter, California. The label features a city skyline in the background and a jewel encrusted crown on the left. This very colorful crate label measures 13" Wide x 4" High and dates back to the 1950s. United Packing Company of Fresno, California, is the sole distributor.
Emperor grapes are second only to Thompson Seedless in quantity grown. These grapes are large, red-violet to deep purple in color, and have thick skins. Their flavor is sweet and mild with a cherry like flavor. The grape's sugar content is lower than many table grapes.
