Tall Alpine Herbs 2 - 1904 Chromo
Historic Overview
This antique print is a floral botanical chromolithograph with phenomenal color and depth. The print comes from the book Alpine Flowers by L. Schroter and Professor Dr. C. Schroter published in 1904 by Albert Raustein of Zurich, Switzerland. This ninth edition is officially titled Coloured Vade-Mecum to the Alpine Flora and is in English, French and German. The lithograph was done by Anst. von Werner & Winter in Frankfurt, Germany.
This is Tafel (Plate) 5 of the book which measures 4.75” x 7.5” and contains images of 6 Alpine Herbs. They are Globe-headed Rampion, Haller’s Rampion, Alpine Lily, Liotiard’s Gagea, Jacobs-ladder, and Wood-Geranium. Attached to the back of the matte is the original book page describing the flowers.
The print is professionally matted in an 8” x 10” purple colored matte to setoff the beauty of the plants. Our vintage prints are shipped in a plastic sleeve between cardboard stiffeners to arrive in perfect condition. These are original labels, NOT modern reproductions.
Keep in mind, an antique print will never be “perfect” like a new print and there are sometimes tiny occasional spots and/or discoloring or aging. However, we only sell mint or almost mint prints and will not sell anything that we would not be proud to hang on our own walls!!!
WE GUARANTEE ALL PRINTS TO BE AUTHENTIC AND AS DESCRIBED!
