Coast Queen California Broccoli Crate label

This California Broccoli Crate Label measures 7” Wide x 4.5” High and features the image of a young blue eyed queen in a ermine fur coat with a jeweled crown. The broccoli was packed and shipped by the Santa Cruz Artichoke & Sprout Growers Association of Santa Cruz, California. This never used mint crate label was lithographed by Schmidt Litho of San Francisco, California, and is from the 1930s or 1940s.

The Santa Cruz Artichoke & Sprout Growers Association was a non-profit co-op formed to be a stabilizing influence for the farmers to market their produce to the East Coast. The organization is now defunct.
