Tebson Perfecto Deluxe Cigar Box End Label
Historic Overview
This striking cigar end label dates to between 1915 and 1925. The label measures 5.5” Wide x 3” High and is in perfect condition. The stone lithograph printing was done by Consolidated Lithographing Corporation of New York and features a natural woodgrain look with embossing and gold gilding. End labels were placed on the ends of cigar boxes so they could be quickly identified by the seller when they were stacked end to end.
The label shows Brooks & Co which is really the T.E. Brooks & Company of Red Lion, Pennsylvania. The company was formed in 1914 when Thomas E. Brooks, a successful Pennsylvania cigar maker, joined with S.E. Sechrist to form T.E. Brooks & Co. By 1930, the company operated five factories in Pennsylvania and is still in business today.
