Queen Isabella Apple Cider Label

SKU: ULB1039
$1.25 USD

Historic Overview

It started in 1918 when Ed Utt couldn’t sell the grapes he grew in his vineyard in Tustin, California, so he bottled and sold grape juice from his back porch. He was so successful that by 1921, he moved to a real building and took on Arcy Schellhous as his partner. Arcy became the sole owner in 1932 and continued to build the business until it was bottling over 200,000 gallons of juices per year. He and his wife died in an accident in 1970 and in 1973 the plant closed, not being able to compete with larger companies.

The Utt Juice Company produced juices, jellies, jams, preserves, and hot cake syrups under the Queen Isabella brand. This original mint condition apple cider label is from the 1920s. It includes two recipes, measures 4.5” Wide x 3” High, and has a unique glossy texture.
