Triangle Florida Citrus Crate Label
Historic Overview
This Florida Citrus label was used for oranges, grapefruit, tangerines, and tangelos that were packed and shipped by the Lake Region Packing Company. This mint condition crate label is from the 1940s and features a young man with a “T” on his sweater ringing a triangular dinner bell. The label was lithographed by Louis Roesch Co. of San Francisco, California.
The Lake Region Packing Association was formed in 1909, and is Florida’s oldest citrus cooperative. In 2004 it joined as the newest member of Dundee Citrus Growers Association. This consolidation created an organization positioned to better serve the growers, marketers and consumers through increased efficiency while still providing access to quality citrus fruit.
