Maple Trees - 1934

These antique tree illustrations highlight both the east and west coasts. The prints come from the book Trees You Want to Know by Donald Culross Peattie and published by Whitman Publishing Company of Racine, Wisconsin in 1934. Illustrations of the eastern trees are from the classic “Sylva of North America” by Francois Andre Michauw and illustrations of western trees by Ethel Bonney Taylor.

These illustrations and descriptions are of the Oregon Maple and Silver Maple, covering both sides of our country. They are professionally matted in an 8” x 10” light brown colored matte to setoff the beauty of the images. Our vintage prints are shipped in a plastic sleeve between cardboard stiffeners to arrive in perfect condition.

Keep in mind, an antique print will never be “perfect” like a new print and there are sometimes tiny occasional spots and/or discoloring or aging. However, we only sell mint or almost mint prints and will not sell anything that we would not be proud to hang on our own walls!!!
