Dixie Spring Vintage Soda Label
Historic Overview
This vintage 5 cent label predates our other Dixie Spring soda label and is circa 1930s. It measures 4” High x 3.2” Wide and is in mint unused condition. The label comes from the Dickson City Bottling Works, Inc. in Dickson City, Pennsylvania. The label features an image of a waterfall between stoned cliffs. This label went on a 16 ounce bottle.
Dickson City Borough was organized in 1875. It was named after Thomas Dickson, founder of the Dickson Manufacturing Company and president of the D & H Railroad from 1869 to 1884. Originally the borough was called Dickson. The postal authorities added City to distinguish if from other post offices of the same name.
