    Historic Overview

This antique color illustration has vibrant clusters of pink flowers. The print comes from the book Wild Flowers Worth Knowing by Neltje Blanchan and adapted by Asa Don Dickinson for the Little Nature Library originally copyrighted in 1917 and published in 1923 by Doubleday, Page & Company for Nelson Doubleday, Inc.

This plate is titled “Fire-weed” and its description was featured on page 136 of the book. The Fire-weed, known as the Great or Spiked Willow-herb, is part of the Evening Primrose Family. The print is professionally matted in an 8” x 10” green colored matte to setoff the beauty of the image. Our vintage prints are shipped in a plastic sleeve between cardboard stiffeners to arrive in perfect condition.

Keep in mind, an antique print will never be “mint” like a new print and there are sometimes tiny occasional spots and/or discoloring or aging. However, we will not sell anything that we would not be proud to hang on our own walls!!!

WE GUARANTEE ALL PRINTS TO BE AUTHENTIC AND AS DESCRIBED!
