This Large vintage poison label comes from Harry W. Gruver, Ph. G. of York, Pennsylvania, and measures 3" Wide x 2" High. Harry was born on April 26, 1901 and died on October 15, 1979. We believe the label dates to the 1920s - 1930s and the pharmacy was located at 305 S. George Street at the corner of College Avenue in York, PA. They had two slogans, "Quality Drugs At Prices That Are Right" and "You Get The Best At Our Store - Make Our Store Your Store".
Denatured alcohol or methylated spirits is ethanol that has additives to make it more poisonous. It has a variety of common uses such as a fuel for marine and camping stoves, a mealybug exterminator, a cleaning aid in removing ink stains from upholstery or clothes, a cleaner in daily housekeeping, an antiseptic for minor wounds, and a solvent in shellac and shellac-based products. A jellied form is used in the well known Sterno fuel as "Canned Heat". In some countries, denatured alcohol must be colored blue or purple to distinguish it from consumption-grade ethanol.
WE GUARANTEE ALL LABELS TO BE AUTHENTIC AND AS DESCRIBED!
