The apples were grown, packed, and shipped by Gilbert Orchards, Inc. of Yakima, Washington. Gilbert Orchards began in 1897 when H.M. Gilbert and Marion Richey Gilbert made their way west from Geneseo, Illinois to start a new life in the Yakima Valley. Cragg D. Gilbert took the leadership role after WWII service and his completion of college. The company is still in business today led by Cragg and Virginia’s four children and Gilbert Orchards has now expanded into growing grapes and has a winery.
