This antique color painting (print) features colorful exact size images of Satyrs and Fritillaries butterflies. The print comes from the book A Field Guide To The Butterflies of North America, East of the Great Plains by Alexander B. Klots. The book was part of The Peterson Field Guide Series originally published in 1951. This is the Sixth Printing dated May, 1964 and published by Houghton Mifflin Company of Boston by their Cambridge, Massachusetts division, The Riverside Press.
This illustration is Plate 8, featuring nine Satyrs and Fritillaries butterflies by Marjorie Statham. We have included the original page describing each of the butterfly images on the back of this mounting. The print is professionally matted in an 8” x 10” pale yellow colored matte to setoff the beauty of the butterflies.
Keep in mind, an antique print will never be “mint” like a new print and there are sometimes tiny occasional spots and/or discoloring or aging (which we always disclose). However, we will not sell anything that we would not be proud to hang on our own walls!!!
WE GUARANTEE ALL PRINTS TO BE AUTHENTIC AND AS DESCRIBED!
