This vintage Bud's Best Ginger Ale label is circa Mid 1920s. The label is 4.75" Wide x 3.5” High, gilded around the edges, and in mint unused condition. We found these unused mint condition labels at the Newport Bottling Works in Newport, New Hampshire. In 1922 the Newport Bottling Company started manufacturing carbonated beverages.
It was first established by Alexander Budnitz, as a grocery store to serve the needs of Polish immigrants, and eventually known as Budd’s Beverages. By the 1930s he had quite a few brands including Dartmouth Dry, Fruit Bowl, and Old Sol. Newport Bottling Works was also the distributor of Moxie and Coca Cola. An ad appearing in 1924 exclaimed, "Drink Bud's Best Beverages bottled by the Newport Bottling Works, extensive improvements have been made in our plant this spring to provide better quality beverages. A sunlit factory - sterilized bottles - pure materials. We gladly welcome visitors to our plant." With a bowling alley on the top floor to carry them over the slow winter months, Budd’s Beverages remained in business until 1972.
Put together a few of our Bud’s Best labels for a great grouping.
