Crane's Imported Cigar Label

This beautiful embossed and gilded vintage cigar label dates to the 1920s. The label measures 8.75” Wide x 6.8” High and is in mint condition. The label was attached to the inside lid of the cigar box and is from The House of Crane, Inc. in Indianapolis, Indiana. The label features an engaging scene with the Crane Flag hanging from the side of a building (presumably the House of Crane) with the mountains and sea in the background behind a field of tobacco. It’s interesting to note that in the 1920s there must have been some serious competition for sales since Crane’s Imported were marked down from 5 cents to 2 ½ cents. The label was lithographed and printed by Consolidated Lithographing Corporation of Brooklyn, New York.
