Historic Overview

The bark of the White Pine Tree was used for the purpose of making Compound Syrup of White Pine with Morphine added. It created an Expectorant which was a useful remedy for coughs and colds. It also had a beneficial effect on the bladder and kidneys. The syrup containing 3/16 gram of morphine has long been said to have contributed its share towards cultivating the morphine habit. This label measuring 2.5” Wide x 1.5” High is from the Wallace Drug Company of Wallace, Idaho.
