Tex Rio Texas Tomato Crate Label

This tomato crate label from Texas measures 13” Wide x 5” High and is in mint condition from the 1960s. This very popular crate label features a beautiful Mexican senorita wearing a large sombrero. She has, what appears to be, green bell peppers on the side of her head, even though this is a tomato crate label. The packer and shipper is Interstate Fruit and Vegetable Company of La Feria, Texas.

La Feria is located in the sub-tropical Lower Rio Grande Valley of Texas in Cameron County. The city only has a population of 6,200 today, but is located in one of the most prolific growing areas of Texas. This crate label is just beautiful and is often remade into posters and prints.
